Our history
Kooduu is a lifestyle brand that creates unique, Nordic-inspired products that bring people together. We have Dutch and Danish roots and were founded in 2017 on the basis of togetherness, happiness, positive ambience, comfort, innovation and putting a smile on people's faces.
In addition to bringing people together, Kooduu's products aim to achieve a certain sense of 'hygge', a quintessentially Danish word that loosely translates to an atmosphere of comfort and conviviality, with an emphasis on contentment and enjoying life. This means that all products are the perfect companion for any social event, such as a summer barbecue, a family gathering indoors, a picnic in the park or a romantic evening for two on the couch.
What is 'hygge'
Hard to explain and even harder to pronounce, the Danish word "hygge" (pronounced "hoo-gah") has exploded in popularity around the world. It translates roughly to "cosiness," but it means so much more than that. So what is hygge, really?
Hygge is a Danish concept that sheds light on their soul. It means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with loved ones. A warm candlelit ambiance is hygge, as is snuggling up with someone to watch a movie. Hygge can also involve conversing with friends and family about various aspects of life. This possibly explains why Danes are among the happiest people globally.

Manufacturing & Assembly
Sustainable production has become a crucial aspect of modern manufacturing practices. With increasing awareness of the impact of industrial activities on the environment, Kooduu is adopting various measures to reduce our carbon footprint, promote responsible sourcing and production, and adopt a circular economy mindset. That is why we are focussing on three key areas where sustainable production is being implemented: a reduced CO2 footprint, FSC-certified materials, and a circular economy mindset.
Another key aspect of our more sustainable production is the responsible sourcing of materials. For example: we are sourcing the wood for our handles and feet from forests that are responsibly managed and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
